私にとって8月に始まった長いCXシーズンの最後のレース。 東京からそれほど遠くない、楽しくて挑戦的なコースである涸沼コースに戻ることに興奮しました。
しかし、レース当日はかなりのウェットでした。 コース練習中、コースは非常に泥だらけで、バイクに泥がうまっていました。 私は多くのバイクの変更と多くの激しい走行を予測しました。
スタート時、私たちSNELのライダー3人はケンゴさんが先頭に立って合流。 マッドセクションで一緒にいましたが、継続的な雨でコースが変わり、マディながらベトベトしたマッドではなく、かなり滑りやすくなっていました。 多くのセクションを実行する必要がありました。 ランニング中に何度か滑ってしまいました。 それでも、自転車の変更は必要ありませんでした。
船山さんはコンディションに優れていて、テクニカルセクションで私たちと差をつけていました。 しかし、健吾さんは強すぎてリードを奪い、船山さんとの距離を縮めるのに苦労しました。
降下はかなり挑戦的で、X2O Trofee Herentals を思い出しました。
残り1/2周でミスをしてバリアテープに絡まってしまいました。 どういうわけかバイクのもつれを解くことができず、多くの時間を失いました。 再スタート後は船山さんの姿が見えなくなったので、完走することだけに集中しました。 しかし最後の登りの頂上で船山さんが見えました。土曜日にロードレースに参加したことで疲れていたようだ。
最後フィニッシュラインまでスプリントし、なんとか彼を倒すことができました。
直後に佐川さんがフィニッシュし、チームは2位、3位、4位となりました。
レース後にこんなに泥だらけだったのを思い出せません。 レースの数日後、私はまだ服、車、装備から泥を取り除こうとしていました!
レースで公園の土地がかなり損傷したようです。主催者に問題が発生しないことを願っています。
学び
• UCI/JCX 以外のレースをスキルに挑戦する機会として利用し、さまざまなライン/アイデアを試すのは良いことです
• 最終シーズンのレースに参加するのは楽しいです。熱狂的な cx ライダーの良い雰囲気です。
繰り返しになりますが、SNEL Cyclocross Team の多大なサポートに感謝します。
The last race of a long CX season that started for me in August. I was excited to return to the Hinuma course – a fun and challenging course not too far from Tokyo.
However race day was quite wet. During course practice the course was extremely muddy, and the mud was accumulating on my bike. I predicted many bike changes and lots of heavy running.
At the start us three SNEL riders were joined by Kengo-san at the front of the race. We were together in the mud section, however with the continurd rain the course changed and whilst muddy it was not sticky mud – yet quite slippery. Many sections required running. A few times I slipped whilst running. Yet bike changes were not necessary.
Funayama-san was excelling in the conditions and creating a gap to the rest of us through the technical sections. However Kengo-san was too strong and took the lead – slowly growing his gap, whilst I struggled to keep touch with Funayama-san.
The descents were quite challenging, it reminded me of X2O Trofee Herentals.
With ½ lap to go I made a mistake and got tangled with the barrier tape. Somehow I could not untangle my bike and I lost a lot of time. After recommencing I could no longer see Funayama-san, so I focused on just finishing the race. However at the top of the final climb he suddenly appeared, it seems he was getting tired due to participating in a road race on Saturday.
We had a friendly sprint to the line and I managed to just beat him.
Sagawa-san finished shortly after, giving the team 2nd, 3rd and 4th place.
I can’t recall being so muddy afyer a race. Days after the race I was still trying to clean up mud from my clothing, car and equipment!
It seems the race really damaged the park land – I hope it does not cause any problems for the organizers.
Learnings
It is good to use non-UCI/JCX race as chance to challenge skills, try different lines/ideas
It is fun to participate in the final season race – good atmosphere of the most passionate cx riders!!
