Race Day
\nThis was my first race in several weeks. I had previously raced Toride in 2020 within C4 category. The condition was dry and course full of short corners plus a long straight.
\nI had a conservative start and was in about 5th position after the first lap, with some gap to the front. I was not feeling strong and so was pacing myself to allow for a stronger second \u00bd of race.
\nDuring the 4th lap my rear derailleur stopped moving and in needed to pedal slowly to the pits, later it seemed he battery DI2 was flat. Perhaps I made an error charging it. I changed my bike however had not set the tyre pressure in my second bike. It had well over >2bar. Actually it felt ok in cornering due to the dry conditions, and I realized that 1.6\/1.7 that I started with was too low. Yet on other hand the pressure caused too many vibrations to get to my back, and combined with the corners my back started to feel pain. After several laps I decided to stop to prevent any injury.
\nIt was a shame to finish the season in such a way, yet on other hand it was still a nice day in Ibaraki.
\nThis was my last cyclocross for the season. I missed having any really strong result this year and feel some disappointment there. Partially there was some bad luck, yet that is sport. Nonetheless it was an enjoyable season.
